Current Remediation Works

PROJECT UPDATE

A high-level summary of required works includes:

Approval of the second construction stage of Landfill Cell 7 by EPA Victoria. Construction works have been completed and construction reports and testing information has been provided to EPA. Approval anticipated mid-August 2026.
Following cell construction approval – Removal of all stockpiled waste material visible from Sunbury Road and placement into Cell 7. This work will require large excavators and dump trucks to load and transport material on internal roads into Cell 7. No transport of material will be undertaken on Sunbury Road. These works are anticipated to be completed within 12 weeks.

Once the remediation works are completed, ARC will commence capping and rehabilitating the remainder of the Site. This excludes Cell 7 which will remain operational in the future.

As of July 2026, remediation works at the Site are well progressed and are anticipated to be completed by December 2026.
