ARC is in the process of obtaining approval from EPA regarding the rehabilitation and aftercare management plan for the Site. This plan specifies how the closed landfill cells will be rehabilitated, capped and monitored. Once this plan is approved and the current remediation works are completed (anticipated August 2026), rehabilitation works will commence, which will encompass the entirety of the Site, excluding Cell 7.

The community can expect to see the following as part of the rehabilitation plan:

​

• Return of site levels to council and EPA approved contours;

• Establishment of engineered capping to suitably cover waste;

• Replacement of earthen haul roads with bitumen/asphalt; and

• Establishment of vegetation and planting.

This reflects a major milestone for the Site which has been subject to major remediation works since 2018.
