ARC has obtained approval to establish a soil abatement facility within the northern portion of the Site away from Sunbury Road. The abatement facility will allow for the processing of Fill Material by a WorkSafe Victoria licensed asbestos removal contractor to remove visible fragments of non-friable/bonded asbestos-containing material from the soil.

All works will be completed in accordance with WorkSafe Victoria requirements. During the works an independent occupational hygienist will verify the effectiveness of controls through visual observations and airborne asbestos fibre monitoring. Furthermore, all treated materials will be subject to strict validation in accordance with EPA Victoria requirements.

This facility will provide waste producers with a dedicated state of the art facility to complete remediation works. Currently, these works are being completed on construction sites across Victoria which may be located directly adjacent sensitive receptors (including residential properties, schools and public parks/playgrounds).
